Cardiff is the vibrant and cosmopolitan capital city of Wales and attracts many hundreds of business and leisure travellers each year. It is not surprising then that in and around the city are a plethora of superb quality hotels Cardiff has something for everyone!

Within the city there are abundant opportunities for leisure activities and attractions as well as many business parks, the University of Wales College Cardiff, City Hall and Cardiff Castle, so choosing a city centre hotel will see you perfectly located. Also in the city centre is the Millennium Stadium, the home of Welsh rugby. The stadium is not just about rugby though and hosts many other sporting fixtures throughout the year as well as many music concerts. To the other side of the capital is Cardiff International Arena which is a well respected major venue for conferences, exhibitions, functions and performances from comedians and musical artists alike.

A few short miles from the city centre is the rejuvenated Cardiff Bay. The continuing regeneration of the area has transformed it from its industrial dockland past to a modern sought after area bustling with businesses, restaurants, bars, individual shops and a harbour area operating sightseeing boat trips. Cardiff Bay is also the home of the National Assembly for Wales which is the Welsh parliament; it is housed in a landmark contemporary designed building, constructed in part in welsh slate. Just behind this building is the Wales Millennium Centre, opened in 2004 by Her Majesty the Queen, it has established a reputation as an iconic arts and cultural destination and has regular performances of many of the sell out shows.

The hotels Cardiff Bay has to offer may see you relaxing in modern styled luxury in bars and restaurants with panoramic views out over the water, watching the boats and yachts sail into the bay from the barrage. Reception or concierge staff are there to welcome you; award winning chefs conjure up spectacular menus with the finest Welsh ingredients. Perhaps rub shoulders with celebrities and sporting heroes, as the area is becoming an increasingly popular location for television filming. City centre hotels do not just offer a convenient location; there are luxury rooms, health clubs and gyms, traditional furnished bars and lounges to relax in, family suites and contemporary boutique accommodation. There are function rooms, meeting space and conference facilities in abundance in the hotels Cardiff is home to.

One of the most popular attractions in the area is the Museum of Welsh Life in the St Fagan's area of the capital. An unusual museum of traditional buildings from various eras in history lovingly removed stone by stone from original locations around Wales and painstakingly rebuilt and restored to their former glory at the museum site. You do not need to travel far to be greeted by the sandy beaches of the South Wales coastline, some great isolated beauty spots as well as popular bays with excellent beachside facilities. On top of this the city has some beautiful traditional architecture in its buildings, many now used by the University and City Hall.

The city centre is packed with fantastic shopping arcades from high street brands to designer labels and when you need a well deserved break from all this, take your pick from the wonderful restaurants and eateries in the Mill Lane cafe quarter with cuisines from all over the globe, locally brewed beer and world wines.

A city centre might seem an unlikely location for a castle but Cardiff castle nestles in perfect harmony with the shoppers and commuters. Built in the 19th century for the third Marques of Bute it is designed as a medieval fairytale home with ornate fireplaces, intricate stained glass and gilded ceilings. The grounds are a lovely spot for a picnic, visit the Royal Regiment of Wales museum or join one of the Welsh Banquets for an entertaining night out.

Cardiff is a great base for anyone looking to visit other towns in South Wales, the M4 links Cardiff to other major towns and cities such as Swansea and Carmarthen to the west and Bristol is just 40 miles to the east. The rail network takes you all over Wales and Cardiff International Airport links Wales to the rest of the world. Any stay in the Welsh capital is sure to be an enjoyable one; the hotels Cardiff has to offer will give you a unique Welsh "Croeso" welcome.
